Install Grok Bot

Grok Bot is the teammate that does the setup. This is the only install today.

Install Grok Bot

  1. Go to x.ai/bot and choose Download for macOS. On Windows or Linux, use More downloads.
  2. Mac: open the disk image, drag Grok Bot to Applications, open it. If macOS asks, choose Open.
  3. Not sure which Mac you have? Apple menu → About This Mac. A Chip field means Apple silicon; a Processor field means Intel.
Nothing to say to Grok for this one. It's a human step.
Success looks likeGrok Bot opens on its welcome screen.

You need Grok Bot access on your account (x.ai's Get started page lists the eligible plans).

Grok uses your Cursor account. A browser window confirms it's you.

RECORDWes captures the Grok Bot welcome screen → Sign in → browser confirm → back in the app → tour → Meet a future teammate (fresh account).
  1. Choose Sign in on the welcome screen.
  2. Finish in the browser window that opens, then come back to Grok Bot.
  3. The short tour asks which tools you use. Answer honestly: it only shapes suggestions and doesn't connect anything.
Nothing to say to Grok for this one. It's a human step.
Success looks likeYou land on Meet a future teammate.

Add the Rainmaker Prospecting Coach

Your first bot, built for ICON. It plugs into the Rainmaker ICON brain and walks you through Prospecting: tracker, clarity poll, voter follow-ups, Ask Interviews and the daily 10/10/10/1. You approve every send.

RECORDWes captures opening the template link → x.ai preview → adding a copy → the coach's first message.
  1. Open the Rainmaker Prospecting Coach link your ICON coach shares.
  2. Preview it on x.ai and add a copy to your Grok Bot.
  3. Open the new bot and say the line below. From here, the coach leads and you answer.
Say this to Grok
Hi Coach, let's get started.
Success looks likeThe coach replies: “Hi, I'm your Rainmaker Prospecting Coach. First I'll connect you to the Rainmaker ICON brain, then we'll start your prospecting.”

No link yet? Every prompt on this page also works in any Grok bot you create yourself (New → Create new Bot).

VERIFYThe template share link doesn't exist yet. Wes creates it in Grok Bot: Share → Create template → Copy link (Public link or Team-only).
VERIFYThe exact x.ai preview and add-a-copy button labels.
VERIFYThe kick-off line. The template's getting-started skill runs on the first conversation; 'Hi Coach, let's get started' is a suggestion.

Connect the brain

Have your MyGentic login ready

The brain runs on MyGentic, an AI knowledge extension. You sign in with your own account, so your login stays yours.

Have your MyGentic login ready
Real screenshot · brainbuilder.mygentic.io (signed out) · captured 1 Oct 2026
  1. Use the same email as your ICON membership.
  2. Want to check it first? Open brainbuilder.mygentic.io and choose Connect with MyGentic.
  3. No account yet, or it asks about credits? Email support@mygentic.io and come back after.
Nothing to say to Grok for this one. It's a human step.
Success looks likeYou know which email and password you'll use in the next step.
VERIFYWhere a brand-new ICON student creates a MyGentic account. The sign-in screen shows Email, Password, Continue and Continue with Google, but no sign-up option.

Ask Grok to connect the Rainmaker ICON brain

One sentence and Grok does the wiring. Your only click is Connect, then you sign in.

Real screenshot · MyGentic sign-in (app.mygentic.io) · captured 1 Oct 2026
Behind the scenes: the Rainmaker Icon Sprint brain in Wes's Brain Builder (existing screenshot on the box)
  1. Paste the prompt. Grok adds the brain as a connector named Rainmaker ICON.
  2. When the Connect card appears, click it.
  3. Sign in with your MyGentic email (you may get a one-time code), then Authorize.
  4. Never paste a password into the chat.
Say this to Grok
Please connect the Rainmaker ICON brain. Add a custom MCP connector named "Rainmaker ICON" with this link: https://brainbuilder.mygentic.io/mcp/t/rainmaker and then show me the Connect card so I can sign in.
Success looks likeGrok confirms Rainmaker ICON is connected.
VERIFYWhich link students paste. This page uses /mcp/t/rainmaker: it's the link the Prospecting Coach template hands out and the one Wes posted in the Week 1 recap. Brain Builder shows /mcp/rainmaker under the Rainmaker Icon Sprint title (slug 'rainmaker'). The Icon Desk list gave /mcp/rainmaker-coach, but box notes tie that slug to the older Rainmaker Coach brain (6a8a976…), not the ICON brain (6aa7b115…). Wes to confirm one link before this goes out.
VERIFYGrok Bot's docs only cover Marketplace plugins. The chat-prompt path and the 'Connect' card come from the coach skill and earlier tests. Confirm both on camera.
VERIFYThat Grok's Connect flow shows this same MyGentic sign-in screen. This capture came from the Brain Builder sign-in, which uses the same MyGentic authorize page.

Test it: one ask

Proof the brain is live before you build on it.

Test it: one ask
Slide from the Rainmaker Week 3 deck (course asset, not a UI screenshot)
  1. Paste the prompt and read the answer as it comes back.
Say this to Grok
Hey Rainmaker, in two lines: what's the daily 10/10/10/1 prospecting routine?
Success looks likeReplies first, then 10 DMs, up to 10 connection requests, 10 comments and 1 post. Today the brain answered: “RAIN = Reach, Ask, Influence, Nurture; run I first: replies and warm follow-ups (uncounted). Then 10 DMs (A), up to 10 requests (R), 10 comments + 1 post (N). That's 10/10/10/1.”

If it shows 3/3/3 (3 comments, 3 warm touches, 3 invites), that's an older routine. The coach flags it and teaches 10/10/10/1. Mention it to Wes or your coach.

Seed Grok with you

Tell Grok who you are

This seeds Grok with you. Every RAIN session then starts from your Promise, not from zero.

RECORDWes captures pasting the 'about me' prompt and Grok reading back what it saved.
  1. Fill in the brackets and paste it. Rough is fine.
  2. Already gave the coach your Promise? It won't ask again.
Say this to Grok
Here's me, please remember it for every Rainmaker session.
Name: [your name]
Promise: I help [who] get [result] in [time].
My ideal client (ICP): [one line]
My LinkedIn profile is: [done / partly / not yet]
My LinkedIn account is: [new, dormant or under ~200 connections / established]
Read it back to me when you've saved it.
Success looks likeGrok reads back your name, Promise, ICP, profile status and account type.

Roast or toast your profile

The Week 2 hot seat, done in chat: a scorecard, a toast for what's working, a roast with your top 3 fixes.

Roast or toast your profile
Real screenshot · rainmaker-week2-profile.pages.dev · captured 1 Oct 2026
  1. Paste your profile text: headline, About, Featured, Experience. A LinkedIn link on its own isn't enough for the brain.
  2. Grok saves the fixes as your profile homework.
Say this to Grok
Hey Rainmaker, roast my profile. Here's my headline, About, Featured and Experience:
[paste your profile text]
Success looks likeYou get a scorecard, a toast (what's working) and a roast (top 3 fixes). The fixes are saved as homework.
VERIFYOptional path: can Grok open the student's own LinkedIn profile and copy the text once they sign in? Test it on a student account first. Pasting the text stays the default.
VERIFYWhere students drop their LinkedIn URL for the group's Roast or Toast (the Week 2 homework post says 'Drop your LinkedIn profile below'). Confirm the current post.

Build your prospecting tracker

Your numbers live in one place, so Grok can plan your day from real data.

RECORDWes captures the tracker prompt → Grok building ICON-Prospecting-Tracker.xlsx → the offer to copy it to the computer.
  1. Paste the prompt. Grok builds the file and offers to copy it to your computer.
  2. Then two minutes a day to log it.
Say this to Grok
Hey Rainmaker, build my prospecting tracker. I use Grok Bot.
Success looks likeA file called ICON-Prospecting-Tracker.xlsx, and a one-line daily log habit.

Write your first clarity poll

One question, four problems. Every voter becomes a real conversation.

Write your first clarity poll
Slide from the Rainmaker Week 3 deck (course asset, not a UI screenshot)
  1. Give your ICP in one line and 3 to 6 problems you think they have.
  2. You post the poll yourself. Then DM every voter the same day.
Say this to Grok
Hey Rainmaker, write my clarity poll. My ICP: [one line]. Problems I think they have: [3 to 6, rough is fine].
Success looks likeA poll question, 4 options, the post body and a duration. When votes come in: “Hey Rainmaker, who voted on my poll, what do I say?”

Make it a habit

Set your RAIN routines

Grok holds the rhythm so you don't have to remember it. Routines draft and plan. They never send.

RECORDWes captures the routines prompt → Grok reading back name, days, time and job → 'OK' → the Routines list in the bot's info pane.
  1. Fill in your time zone and start time, paste it, and give your OK when Grok reads the routines back.
  2. To see them later: click the bot's name in the chat header. Its Routines list is in that pane.
Say this to Grok
Please set up my Rainmaker routines. My time zone is [your time zone] and I start work at [time].
1. Weekday mornings: "Hey Rainmaker, what's the plan for today?"
2. Monday: "Hey Rainmaker, plan my week"
3. Friday: "Hey Rainmaker, review my week"
Read each one back to me and only create it after I say OK. Routines draft and plan only; they never send anything.
Success looks likeGrok reads back each routine (name, days, local time, what it does) and creates it only after your OK.

Keep your LinkedIn safe

Low and slow wins. Nothing goes out without your “approve”.

Keep your LinkedIn safe
Slide from the Rainmaker Week 3 deck (course asset, not a UI screenshot)
  1. Ask for the safety card (prompt below).
  2. Your one setting: Grok Bot Settings → General → Bot → Execution on Local Computer. This lets work run from your own computer. Test it before you rely on it.
  3. Cloudflare, “verify you're human” or a warning: stop, clear it yourself, cool down 15+ minutes. A second check that day means drafts only.
Say this to Grok
Hey Rainmaker, keep my LinkedIn safe.
Success looks likeYou can say the caps back: 10 connection requests a day is the standard (one batch of ≤10); 20 a day is the hard max, never the target; about 100 per rolling 7 days is the outer ceiling. Cloudflare page means stop and cool down.

New or dormant account? Ramp 5, then 7, then 10 a day. Acceptance under 20%: stop requests and fix the profile.

VERIFYDoes Execution on Local Computer route Grok's LinkedIn browser traffic through the student's own connection? The coach skill says it may not, so test it first.
VERIFYNaming: the coach skill calls it 'Local execution'; the Grok Bot docs label is 'Execution on Local Computer'. Use the docs label on screen.

Make it rain, every weekday

One 30-minute block. Grok drafts, you approve, it's logged.

RECORDWes captures one full 'let's make it rain' session on a demo or blurred account: I → A → R → N, one batch shown, 'approve', logged.
  1. Say the line. Grok pulls your tracker and walks you through RAIN, one letter at a time.
  2. Read each batch (10 or fewer, one type) and reply approve. One approve covers that batch only.
  3. Comments are yours: write them or approve each one.
Say this to Grok
Hey Rainmaker, let's make it rain.
Success looks likeInfluence first (replies, uncounted), then Ask (10 DMs), Reach (up to 10 requests), Nurture (10 comments + 1 post), then a 2-minute log.

  1. Decks and canvases: the course hub (link below).
  2. Call recordings: in Guides. After 7 days they move to the mentorship forum.
  3. Hit the brain's daily limit? Pick it up tomorrow, or email support@mygentic.io if it keeps happening.
  4. Rainmaker dashboard: [VERIFY: where it lives].
  5. End every session with the line below so Grok keeps what matters.

Wrap up and remember.
Success looks likeGrok saves your memories (no secrets) and names one next action, usually: post the poll, then DM every voter the same day.
VERIFYThe brain's daily limit: how many asks and when it resets. Don't put a number on screen until it's confirmed.
VERIFYWhat the 'Rainmaker dashboard' is and its link. The MyGentic sign-in links to app.mygentic.io as the 'MyGentic dashboard', but that may be something else.
VERIFYRecordings: Guides, then the mentorship forum after 7 days (from the Icon Desk). Confirm before recording.

Your three daily lines

10 connection requests a day is the standard (one batch of ≤10); 20 a day is the hard max, never the target; about 100 per rolling 7 days is the outer ceiling. Cloudflare page means stop and cool down.
